Friday morning and a stop at the Guildhall under the Tyne Bridge to check on the Kittiwakes and lo and behold literally the first one I clapped my eyes on had a BTO metal ring on. After about 25 mins and a few photographs which I have looked at tonight I eventually thought I had decrypted the ring number and knowing Andy R had been in some part involved in ringing Kittiwakes I sent him the number and a couple of pictures and within a very short time I had the answer.
This little beauty was ringed at the Gateshead Tower on 5th July 2010 as an Adult Male but has now moved North and applied for residency as a proper Geordie as you just meet a nicer type North of the River : =)
