Had a quick trip down to Far Pastures on Wednesday. There was quite a few birds around the Car Park including, a lovely pair of Bullfinches, Chiffchaff, Dunnock, Coal and Willow Tit, Great Tits (wherever you looked) and a couple of Goldfinch. From the Hide I observed a Heron who had dropped in for a quick frog or two, a Little Grebe, couple of Canada Geese and several Mallard and for the first time for quite a while I was unable to spot any Snipe.
The hightlight of the quick visit was this beautiful Chaffinch who was singing merrily for quite a while:
and also my first viewing of a Blackcap, although the pic is not too brilliant:

Was the Heron HOPPING around the reeds looking for Frogs?
