Hadn't been to Big Waters for nearly 2 weeks and when I arrived mid morning it was suprisingly empty but there was a note in the log saying that a Mink had taken a Juvenile Mallard, thats at least 3 now its taken. There was also quite a few birds around, with the stars (in my opinion) being the 2 Great Crested Grebe and their 2 Juveniles (acting very grown up) hanging around the lake. Several Grey Lags dropped in and out a couple of times and at least 3 Little Grebes were seen. The Common Terns still wheeling around the skies and fishing quite frequently. Got some great views of Willow and Reed Warblers.
Then off to see a friend up North but still had time to drop into Druridge where this gorgeous Greenshank was strutting its stuff outside the hide.
