Was out on Saturday up the Derwent with Mr Sedgy Warbler and a very good morning it was. A few Dippers, Goldcrests, Grey Wagtail, Water Rail and many others on quite a decent day. We had originally gone out to see the Starlings leave their Roost at Shibdon but a slight delay meant we only got glimpses of it from the car whilst partaking in morning refreshment.
Didn't get a lot of media coverage of the birds but here we go with the bits and bobs I did get:
Dippers and Water Rail
On Sunday morning I picked up Mr Sedgie again and headed for a walk round Big Waters with Alan J, Ian D and Keith B. The pond was full of Ducks and Gulls including a Great Black Back Gull, several Pochard Goldeneye etc etc. On the walk round there was a lot of Geese, including a Tundra Bean Goose, a couple of Med Gulls, Skylark, Meadow Pipit and plenty of others. It was nice being out with a great bunch and catching up with the news
