Went looking for "Wee Timorous Beasties" over the last few days and found a few.
At Big Waters there was 100s if not 1,000s
of these in the pond in a huge shoal
Large Red Damselflys also at Big Waters
On the other side of the river an hour at Clara Vale we watched
several Orange Tips. The undersides, are in my opinion, much
more decorative than the upper wings
There were also several Speckled Woods enjoying the sunshine
Heading over to Stargate we soon found a couple of
4 Spotted Chasers
Also in the vicinity were quite a few Blue Damselflys and Large Reds
On the hard ground we found our first Dingy Skipper of the year
Then quite a few Small Heaths were seen, probably into double figures
but it was difficult to keep them in sight as they were up and down
like the proverbial YoYo
Well back to the birding, at least till John returns from Kent when it will be back
into Dragonfly Hunting.
